Coronavirus in Monroe County: 81 total deaths, 19 new confirmed cases, bringing total to 1,035

The Monroe County Department of Health announced Monday 10 new deaths and 19 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases to 1,035.

Eighty-one people have died from COVID-19 in Monroe County.

As of Monday, the county’s COVID-19 dashboard shows 94 people are currently hospitalized and 28 of them are in ICU on a ventilator.

Of the 1,035 confirmed cases, 465 people have recovered from the disease. The health department, at this time, has placed 556 people into mandatory quarantine and 233 in isolation, and 465 people have recovered from isolation.

The 19 new cases include:

–    Two women in their 20s
–    One man in his 20s
–    One woman in her 30s
–    One man in his 40s
–    Two women in their 60s
–    One man in his 60s
–    Four women in their 70s
–    One man in his 70s
–   Two women in their 80s
–    Two women in their 90s
–    Two men in their 90s

The first person to die from the novel coronavirus in Monroe County was a 54-year-old man who died at Rochester General Hospital on March 17. Two of the dead were residents of the Ontario Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Hopewell. One was a resident of The Hurlbut Nursing Home in Brighton.
