The Monroe County Department of Health announced Monday two new deaths and 41 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases to 2,268.
A total of 174 people have now died from COVID-19 in Monroe County.
As of Monday, the county’s COVID-19 dashboard shows 136 people are currently hospitalized and 21 of them are in ICU on a ventilator.
Of the 2,268 confirmed cases, 1,153 people have recovered from the disease. The health department says 1,405 people — confirmed positive COVID-19 cases and known presumed positive COVID-19 cases — have recovered from isolation to date.
The three-day average of daily total tests taken in Monroe County is at 1,144 tests per day for PCR and antibody testing as of Monday.
There have been 28,598 total PCR tests received as of Monday in Monroe County.

It shows only three of the dead were younger than 59.

The first person to die from the novel coronavirus in Monroe County was a 54-year-old man who died at Rochester General Hospital on March 17. Two of the dead were residents of the Ontario Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Hopewell. One was a resident of The Hurlbut Nursing Home in Brighton. Fifteen of the dead have been residents of the Kirkhaven nursing home. The state is now reporting The Hurlbut has seven confirmed deaths and five presumed deaths and the St. John’s Health Care Corporation has 16 deaths.
