The U.S. Postal Service says one of its area employees has tested positive for COVID-19.

The postal service says the individual is employed at the Jefferson Road processing and distribution center in Henrietta.

Due to privacy laws, officials are not allowed to divulge information about the worker’s condition.

The CDC and U.S. surgeon general say COVID-19 is unlikely to spread through mail or packages. USPS says it will continue to follow CDC guidance to ensure the safety of its workers.
