Rochester, N.Y. – The Rochester Red Wings’ season has been officially cancelled.
The decision comes amid the COVID-19 pandemic and team management, while disappointed, said they understand concerns about health and safety were the most important factors.
“It is unfortunate that, at a time when baseball could have been a real source of healing, we have been unable to provide it for our community,” said President, CEO and COO Naomi Silver. “But Red Wings Baseball will persevere, and we look forward to next year when we can welcome our friends back to the ballpark.”
Tickets that have already been purchased can be exchanged for a ticket of equal value in the 2021 season. Season seat holders, Ticket Pack customers and Group and Catered Events customers will be contacted by team officials. More information can be found here.
The Red Wings say this will be the first season since 1894 in Rochester without professional baseball.
