(WHAM) – There is still time to join in the first-ever Black Restaurant Week in Rochester.
The Rochester Black Young Professionals have been highlighting a different black-owned restaurant every day this week from July 6-12.
Members say the week shows the power of the black dollar.
On Tuesday, both locations for Roc City Ramenwere featured. Michael Goode, the owner, said he saw a lot of new faces and was happy to meet each person.
“Oh my gosh, the increase in first timers has been very apparent,” Goode said. “Meeting new people, meeting other Black restaurant owners – see what they’re making – see what they’re about. Ordering their food. Trying new things. It’s been great.”
For Thursday, Taste of Bahamas on Lake Avenue in Rochester is the featured restaurant
