The National Warplane Museum’s 2020 Geneseo Airshow has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The Greatest Show on Turf” was originally scheduled to take place from July 11 to July 12, at Geneseo Airport and was meant to celebrate the show’s 40th anniversary.

“This decision is driven by the need to protect the health and safety of our communities, and everyone who works hard to make the event a success, as well as the uncertainty of when restrictions barring public gatherings will be lifted,” President of the National Warplane Museum Austin Wadsworth said.

Instead, Wadsworth also mentioned the museum is starting to plan the event for mid to late September.

“In the hope our country will be back to normal later this summer and public gathering restrictions will be lifted, the museum is starting to plan an event for mid to late September that may include, among other things, a limited number of performers, airplane rides, re-enactors, food, and other events in line with previous shows,” Wadsworth said. “We plan to provide the same excellent, economical, and family-focused event as we have since 1980.”
